Getting Started with the Move SE

Step 1: Power & Connect ~3 minutes

See tabs below:

  1. Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the camera.
  2. Plug the adapter into a power outlet.

When powered on, the camera performs a short startup sequence moving through its full range of motion. This is normal. It will return to Preset 0 (Home) when complete.

Connect a video output to verify the camera is working:

  • HDMI 1.3: direct to a display or capture card
  • 3G-SDI: to an SDI-compatible device (HDMI and SDI are not simultaneous)
  • USB: to your computer using the included USB C-A cable
  • IP Video Connection: To verify your video connection on your network, follow the instructions in Step 2 below. This will allow you to view the camera’s video feed

→ Full details: Power · Connections

Troubleshooting: Camera doesn't start up
  • Verify the power adapter is firmly seated in the DC IN port.
  • If using PoE, confirm your switch supports PoE (802.3af).
  • Try a different power outlet or Ethernet port on your switch.
  • Check that the power LED on the rear of the camera illuminates.

Step 2: Get On the Network ~5 minutes

Use the tabs to view the two methods for connecting to the camera over your network.

Open any web browser and go to:

http://ptzoptics.local

This uses mDNS to automatically discover your camera. This will take you to the camera’s Web User Interface. If it loads, you're connected. You should be able to see your camera’s video feed.

Setting up multiple cameras?

Do one at a time. Assign each a unique Device ID from the Web UI's Device Info tab so you can reach them by name, e.g., http://camera-one.local and http://camera-two.local.

Troubleshooting: Can't find the camera
  • ptzoptics.local doesn't work? Your network may not support mDNS. Use the IR Remote method instead.
  • Camera and computer on different subnets? Both must be on the same network range (e.g., both on 192.168.1.xxx).
  • Firewall blocking? Temporarily disable firewall and try again.
  • Need your network range? For typical users, on Windows, open Command Prompt and run ipconfig. On Mac, open Terminal and run ipconfig getifaddr en0. Look for your IPv4 address; the first three octets are your network range.
    • If you are experiencing difficulties or you are unsure of your network type, please contact your IT administrator.

Step 3: Access the Web UI ~2 minutes

Open a web browser and enter your camera's IP address:

http://[your-camera-ip]

You'll see a login screen.

Troubleshooting: Can't reach the Web UI
  • Double-check the IP address. No https, just http://
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
  • Clear your browser cache or try an incognito/private window
  • Confirm your computer is on the same network subnet as the camera
  • If you've forgotten your password, you can factory reset network settings using the IR remote: [*][#][MANUAL]
