Getting Started with the Move 4K
Step 1: Power & Connect ~3 minutes
See tabs below:
- AC Adapter
- Power over Ethernet
- Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the camera.
- Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Connect a Cat6 cable (or better) from a PoE+ (802.3at) switch to the camera's LAN port.
- The switch provides both power and network, no AC adapter needed.
When powered on, the camera performs a short startup sequence moving through its full range of motion. This is normal. It will return to Preset 0 (Home) when complete.
Connect a video output to verify the camera is working:
- HDMI 2.0: direct to a display or capture card
- 3G-SDI: to an SDI-compatible device (HDMI and SDI are not simultaneous)
- USB: to your computer using the included USB A-A cable
→ Full details: Power · Connections
Troubleshooting: Camera doesn't start up
- Verify the power adapter is firmly seated in the DC IN port
- If using PoE, confirm your switch supports PoE+ (802.3at), not just PoE (802.3af)
- Try a different power outlet or Ethernet port on your switch
- Check that the power LED on the rear of the camera illuminates
Step 2: Get On the Network ~5 minutes
Use the tabs for the three methods of finding the camera's IP Address.
- Web Browser
- IR Remote
- Fleet Manager
Open any web browser and go to:
http://ptzoptics.local
This uses mDNS to discover your camera automatically. If it loads, you're connected.
With HDMI connected to a display, press on the IR remote:
[*] → [#] → [4]
The camera's IP address will appear on screen.
Download PTZOptics Fleet Manager and launch it. It will automatically scan your network and list all PTZOptics cameras with their IP addresses.
Do one at a time. Assign each a unique Device ID from the Web UI's Device Info tab so you can reach them by name, e.g., http://cameraOne.local and http://cameraTwo.local.
→ Full details: Networking
Troubleshooting: Can't find the camera
- ptzoptics.local doesn't work? Your network may not support mDNS. Use the IR Remote or Fleet Manager method instead.
- Camera and computer on different subnets? Both must be on the same network range (e.g., both on 192.168.1.xxx).
- Firewall blocking? Temporarily disable firewall and try again.
- Need your network range? On Windows, open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig. On Mac, open Terminal and runipconfig getifaddr en0. Look for your IPv4 address — the first three octets are your network range.
Step 3: Access the Web UI ~2 minutes
Open a web browser and enter your camera's IP address:
http://[your-camera-ip]
You'll see a login screen.
- First time? You'll be prompted to create a new password.
- Username:
admin
Once logged in, you have full control of your camera, including PTZ, image settings, streaming, presets, and more.
Your Move 4K is powered, networked, and accessible from your browser. Explore the sections below to configure streaming, set presets, and unlock every feature.

Troubleshooting: Can't reach the Web UI
- Double-check the IP address. No
https, justhttp:// - Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
- Clear your browser cache or try an incognito/private window
- Confirm your computer is on the same network subnet as the camera
- If you've forgotten your password, you can factory reset network settings using the IR remote:
