Audio & Video Settings

The Audio & Video page contains all settings related to how the SimplTrack3 encodes and outputs video and audio. It covers the HDMI/SDI output format, video encoding for three IP streams, and audio encoding configuration.

caution

Changes to video encoding and output format settings can affect live output immediately after clicking Apply. Modify these settings during scheduled maintenance windows to avoid disrupting active streams or recordings.

HDMI/SDI Output: Encoding Settings

SettingOptionsDescription
Video Format1080P60, 1080P50, 1080P30, 1080P25, 720P60, 720P50Sets the resolution and frame rate of the HDMI/SDI physical video output.

Click Apply to save changes. Click Refresh to reload the current values from the camera.

note

Switching the video format from HDMI to SDI requires that the camera to be rebooted for the changes to take effect.

Video Encoding Settings

Global encoding settings that apply across all IP streams.

SettingOptionsDescription
Encoding ProfileBase, Main, HighSets the H.264 encoding profile. Base offers the widest compatibility with legacy devices. Main is the recommended default. Main provides a balance between compatibility and compression efficiency. High provides the best compression efficiency for modern systems.
Video TemplatesLow, Medium, HighQuick presets that apply a balanced combination of resolution, bitrate, and frame rate to all streams.

PTZ Stream: Encoding Settings

The primary IP stream from the PTZ camera. This is the main high-quality output used for streaming, recording, and monitoring.

SettingOptionsDescription
Encoding ProtocolH264, H265Video compression codec. H.264 provides broad compatibility, while H.265 provides higher efficiency but requires a Windows paid Windows plug-in to pull the stream in.
Resolution640x360, HD720, 1080POutput resolution for the PTZ stream.
Video Frame Rate1–60 fpsFrames per second.
Bit Rate (Kbps)NumericTarget bitrate in kilobits per second.
Bit Rate ControlCBR, VBRCBR (Constant Bitrate) is ideal for live streaming. VBR (Variable Bitrate) is ideal for recording.
I Key Frame IntervalNumericDefines how frequently keyframes are transmitted. Lower values improve seek accuracy but increase bandwidth.

Reference Stream: Encoding Settings

The secondary stream from the wide-angle reference camera. Typically used for auto-tracking analysis and monitoring.

SettingOptionsDescription
Encoding ProtocolH264, H265Video compression codec. H.265 provides higher efficiency but requires compatible decoders.
Resolution640x360, HD720Output resolution for the reference stream.
Video Frame Rate1–30 fpsFrames per second.
Bit Rate (Kbps)NumericTarget bitrate in kilobits per second.
Bit Rate ControlCBR, VBRConstant or Variable bitrate mode.
I Key Frame IntervalNumericDefines how frequently keyframes are transmitted. Lower values improve seek accuracy but increase bandwidth.

Stream 3: Encoding Settings

A third IP stream available for additional monitoring, recording, or integration.

SettingOptionsDescription
Encoding ProtocolH264, H265Video compression codec. H.265 provides higher efficiency but requires compatible decoders.
Resolution640x360, HD720, 1080POutput resolution for Stream 3.
Video Frame Rate1–30 fpsFrames per second.
Bit Rate (Kbps)NumericTarget bitrate in kilobits per second.
Bit Rate ControlCBR, VBRConstant or Variable bitrate mode.
I Key Frame IntervalNumericDefines how frequently keyframes are transmitted. Lower values improve seek accuracy but increase bandwidth.
note

The PTZ Stream should always be configured at the highest quality your network can support. The Reference Stream and Stream 3 are typically configured at lower resolutions and bitrates to conserve bandwidth.

Audio Settings

SettingOptionsDescription
Sample Rate48 KHzAudio sampling frequency (fixed).
Audio Rate48 Kbps, 64 Kbps, 96 Kbps, 128 KbpsEncoded audio bitrate. Higher values improve audio quality.
Line In VolumeNumericControls the input level of the line-in audio source.
Audio Encoding ProtocolAACAudio codec (fixed to AAC).
