Dashboard

The Dashboard is the default view after logging in to the SimplTrack3 Web UI. It provides a live video preview, full PTZ controls, preset management, and image adjustment tools organized into two tabs: PTZ Control and Image.

PTZ Control Tab & Camera Control

The PTZ Control tab is the default view below the live preview. It contains all manual camera movement controls, speed settings, preset management, and OSD menu access.

Pan & Tilt

An 8-direction control pad provides manual pan and tilt control:

  • 8 directional arrows: Move the camera lens Up, Down, Left, Right, and diagonal directions
  • Home button: (center) Returns the camera to its home position

Speed Bubbles

These bubbles located between the Pan & Tilt pad and the Zoom/Focus controls adjust movement speed. These range from a tortoise icon (slow, precise movements) to a hare icon (fast movements).

Zoom

The Zoom control provides + and buttons for zooming in and out.

Focus

The Focus control provides + and buttons for manual focus adjustment.

Speed Settings

Fine-tuned speed controls are available below the main PTZ area:

SettingDefaultDescription
Pan Speed5Controls the speed of horizontal (pan) movements. Adjustable with up/down arrows.
Tilt Speed5Controls the speed of vertical (tilt) movements. Adjustable with up/down arrows.
Pan & Tilt Speed LockOffWhen enabled, Pan Speed and Tilt Speed are locked together so adjusting one adjusts both.
Zoom Speed5Controls the speed of zoom movements. Adjustable with up/down arrows.
Focus Speed3Controls the speed of focus adjustments. Adjustable with up/down arrows.

Beside the speed controls, three OSD (On-Screen Display) menu buttons provide access to the camera's built-in on-screen menu system:

ButtonDescription
Directional PadLets you navigate the OSD menu using the directional arrows.
Home ButtonFunctions as the Enter Button while in the OSD menu.
MenuOpens the camera's OSD menu on the video output.
Menu BackNavigates back one level in the OSD menu.
Menu ExitCloses the OSD menu.

Preset Control

Presets save and recall specific camera positions (pan, tilt, zoom). The SimplTrack3 supports up to 254 presets with 9 quick-access buttons on the Dashboard.

Setting a Preset

  1. Use the PTZ controls to position the camera.
  2. Enter the preset number in the text field to the right of the set and call buttons (0–254).
  3. Click Set to save the current position.

Calling a Preset

  1. Enter the preset number in the text field or click a quick-access button
  2. Click Call to move the camera to that saved position

Renaming a Preset

The Rename Preset (1–9) text field allows you to assign a custom name to any of the first 9 presets for easier identification.

Quick Preset Buttons

Nine numbered buttons (Preset 1 through Preset 9) provide one-click access to frequently used positions.

Image Tab

The Image tab provides access to all image quality and camera behavior settings. It is organized into five sub-tabs: Image, Exposure, Color, Focus, and Advanced. Each sub-tab includes a Default button that resets all settings on that tab to factory defaults.

Exposure Brightness0–27Sets the target brightness level. Used in Brightness Priority mode.

Exposure Mode Descriptions

  • Auto Mode: The camera automatically adjusts shutter, iris, and gain to achieve proper exposure. User can adjust exposure compensation, exposure level, backlight compensation, and anti-flicker settings.

  • Manual Mode: User manually sets shutter, iris, and gain for full control over exposure. Exposure compensation, backlight compensation, anti-flicker, and exposure brightness settings are disabled.

  • Shutter Priority: User sets the shutter speed, and the camera automatically adjusts iris and gain to achieve proper exposure. Exposure compensation and backlight compensation are disabled.

  • Aperture Priority: User sets the iris (aperture), and the camera automatically adjusts shutter and gain for proper exposure. All other exposure settings are disabled.

  • Brightness Priority: User sets a target brightness level, and the camera automatically adjusts shutter, iris, and gain to maintain that brightness. Iris, Shutter, Gain, Exposure Compensation, and Backlight Compensation settings are disabled.

tip

When using the camera under artificial lighting, set Anti-Flicker Mode to match your local power frequency (50 Hz in most of Europe/Asia, 60 Hz in North America) to prevent visible flicker in the image.

::tip Outdoor Mode When using Outdoor Mode we recommend turning off Anti-Flicker Mode to prevent the camera from compensating for artificial lighting, which is not present outdoors. :::
