Connect Via USB
This guide covers setting up the Move 4K with USB video. Use this for plug-and-play webcam workflows in Zoom, Teams, OBS, or vMix.
πWhat you need
- USB cable
- 12V DC power supply (included) or PoE+ switch/injector
- Computer with USB input
Step 1: Connect the USBβ
- Connect a USB cable from the camera's USB output to your computer.
- Power on the camera using DC power or PoE+.
β οΈUSB does not power the camera
USB carries data only. The Move 4K still requires DC power or PoE+.
Step 2: Wait for the Camera to Bootβ
Once powered, the camera performs a startup sequence:

Self-calibration: During startup, the camera moves through its full range of motion while both the green (Standby) and blue (Power) LEDs are on. When self-calibration is complete, the camera returns to Preset 0 (Home)

Ready: Once the camera stops moving and the green LED turns off, your camera is ready to use.
Step 3: Select the Camera in Your Appβ
In your app's video settings, choose the Move 4K as the video device.
- Zoom: Settings > Video
- Teams: Settings > Devices
- OBS: Add Source > Video Capture Device
- vMix: Add Input > Camera
Step 4: Verify Video and Controlβ
- Confirm you see live video in your application.
- Use the web interface at
http://ptzoptics.local/for PTZ control and image settings. - The easiest way to verify PTZ control via USB is to use the camera's IR remote. Press the arrow buttons to pan and tilt, and the zoom buttons to zoom in and out. For more information on using the IR remote, see the Using the IR Remote section.
Test Presets Using the IR Remoteβ
Press [PRESET] then a number (e.g., [1]) to save. To recall: press the number again. For more information on using the IR remote, see the Using the IR Remote section.
