Move SE Autotracking Guide

How to Operate Auto Tracking

Step 1: Open the Web Interface

Start by opening the camera's web interface in your browser. Type the camera's IP address into the address bar and navigate to it. You'll be presented with a login screen — enter your credentials to proceed to the main dashboard.

If you need help locating your camera's IP address, see the Network Setup Guide.

Step 2: Navigate to the Control Tab

Once logged in, you'll see the main dashboard with a video preview at the top. Directly below the video preview are three tabs: Speed, Image, and Control. Click on the Control tab.

Step 3: Select the Automation Tab

Within the Control tab, you'll find three sub-tabs: Automation, Mode, and Ports. Select the Automation tab to access the auto tracking settings.

Step 4: Configure Your Settings

  • Automation Mode: At the very top of the Automation tab, you'll see an Automation toggle for switching between Off, Auto Framing, and Auto Tracking.
  • Time Delay: Below the automation mode toggle, you can enable or disable Time Delay and set a specific delay time before tracking turns on.
  • Tracking Start Location: Set where the camera should be positioned when auto tracking begins.
  • Tracking Stop Location: Define where the camera should move when tracking stops.
  • Target Loss Timeout: Set how long the camera waits before giving up on a lost target, and which preset it moves to when that happens.

For what each of these options does, see the settings reference below.

Step 5: Apply Your Changes

After adjusting any of these settings, click Apply for the changes to take effect.

Using the Remote Control

You can toggle auto tracking on and off using the remote control's F keys:

  • F1 – Enable video-based auto framing
  • F2 – Enable audio-based auto tracking
  • F3 – Enable video-based auto tracking
  • F4 – Disable auto tracking
F1 and F2 Are Currently Nonfunctional

The F1 and F2 remote keys are not currently functional.

Autotracking Settings Reference

Auto Tracking Features

The Move SE has the following features:

  • Auto Tracking
  • Auto Framing
  • Time Delay
  • Start and Stop Tracking Locations
  • Target Loss Timeout

Auto Tracking

The Auto Tracking feature allows the camera to automatically follow and capture the movement of a single subject within the frame.

Auto Framing

Auto Framing adjusts the camera's composition to keep all subjects well-framed.

Time Delay

The Time Delay feature allows the user to set a delay between when tracking is toggled on and when the camera actually starts tracking. This delay can be set between 0 and 60 seconds.

Tracking Start and Stop Location

This feature allows the user to select where they want the camera to go when tracking starts, and where they want it to go when tracking stops. You can also mix and match — for instance, you could set the camera to go to preset 5 when auto tracking is turned on, and go to the home position when tracking stops.

  • Home: Sends the camera back to its home position when tracking starts/stops.
  • Track Now: Begins tracking wherever the camera currently is and will not change the location or cause the camera to move.
  • Presets: Calls a specific preset that you, as the user, must specify for when autotracking is turned on/off. You can choose any of the camera's 254 presets.

Target Loss

This setting determines what the camera does when it cannot find the subject/target it was actively tracking. This can happen if the subject leaves the room or is blocked from the view of the camera by an object or other people.

  • Target Timeout: Enables users to set a specific time duration, from 6 to 60 seconds. If the camera loses track of the subject being followed during tracking within this defined time, the camera will automatically activate a user-defined preset to reposition itself.
  • Target Loss Preset: Specifies which preset the camera should call when the target timeout occurs.
Not the Same as Time Delay

Target Loss Timeout (6–60 seconds) is a separate setting from Time Delay (0–60 seconds) — Time Delay controls when tracking starts, while Target Loss Timeout controls how long the camera waits after losing its target before repositioning.
